Harry Kane Was Even Tormenting Arsenal Years Ago

"Harry Kane, he's one of our own" is the chant that has rung out with increasing regularity around White Hart Lane this season and has been used as a stick for Arsenal fans to beat their North London rivals with, after pictures emerged of the new England international striker playing for one of the Gunners' youth teams at the age of 10.

Kane has of course laughed off the implications that he's any sort of Arsenal reject, and reaffirmed his allegiances with a match winning performance in the recent North London Derby at White Hart Lane. In new revelations though, it would seem his brace in that match isn't the only time Kane has scuppered Arsene Wenger, having thrown a rather large wrench in his transfer plans four years ago.
Speaking to TalkSPORT, former Spurs boss Harry Redknapp reminisced about a 17 year old Kane tormenting Arsenal target Scott Dann, causing Wenger to rethink his transfer plans.
"I remember one story – it’s a true story – we had a reserve game at the training ground. We played Birmingham and I think Arsenal were looking at Scott Dann that day. Their chief scout, Pat Rowley, came over with Pat Rice to watch the game.
"I think they were very close to signing Scott Dann from Birmingham. He’d come back from injury and they asked if they could come to our training ground and watch a private training game, and I said: 'Yeah, no problem.'
"Harry Kane played up front and he absolutely murdered him and I think he got four goals that day."
Dann ended up at Ewood Park instead of the Emirates, before Crystal Palace lured the centre half away from Blackburn. Arsene Wenger's transfer funds were instead spent on Per Mertesacker.
