With the sale of Brazilian right-back Danilo to Real Madrid agreed for the end of the season, FC Porto have yet again capitalised financially on bringing a talented player to the attention of Europe's heavyweights. In little over 10 years, the Portuguese giants have brought in a staggering £517m in transfer fees. Or to put it another way, just over £100m a season for every season since they won the Champions League.
Unfortunately, Porto have seen much of the money go to third party owners and agents, rather than into their own coffers, yet that hasn't stopped them from unearthing an almost ceaseless conveyor belt of top class talent, over the past decade.

Let's face it, any club that wangles themselves 32m euros from the sale of Anderson deserves a standing ovation. 21m euros for Jose Bosingwa is also a commendable effort.
Just imagine the team Porto could have had, with Jose Mourinho as manager, no less ...
